Come on Jared!!! We have already passed the point of being grossed out by this. The science works. The idea is to conserve water and save millions of gallons that can stay in our rivers and lakes etc. Get on board man the water is fine.

As an American trained in civil and environmental engineering - THANK YOU! MY son's pedodontist high-fived me the last time I took him in because I was still feeding him the municipal fluoridated tap water, unlike 80% or more of the parents he meets. There are so many better ways we could be using our resources/money than spending it on bottling, shipping, and marketing bottled water (which I've always thought tastes funny anyway).

Gosh, you *look* well-funded! Sorry for raising a bristle-inducing notion in my feeble attempt at humor. It's a beautiful site--keep up the good work, even if it does mean getting a part-time job to pay the bills.

Thanks for the plug! A couple of clarifications:

1) Funding? Ha! We had some pilot money a few years ago, but we are SO broke. And we kind of bristle at the notion of our being well-funded, as it tends to make potential donors think we don't need any more money. Nothing could be further from the truth!

2) Peter Gleick's name is spelled, well, like that.

Thanks again!

Hi Jared,

Your knowledge of things wet is impressive, but your post on water recycling left me thinking you really need to spend 24 minute to watch this award winning video I helped produce for the California WateReuse Association some years ago.

It's posted on a friend's blog called running water:
http://dianafoss.com/Misc%20Files/WaterInAnEndlessLoop.mp4

Hope you enjoy it and maybe change you attitude about recycling water, even for drinking and groundwater replenishment.

Never Thirst!
